我是1954年10月在山东农村出生的，兄妹两人，父母都是农民。首先我想说说农产品的价格，以小麦为例。1970年–1980年小麦的市场价格：从 ‘0．35元／市斤’上涨到’0．38元／市斤’，物价基本上没有什么变化，非常稳定。我想说的问题是农民在市场上卖掉一市斤小麦的钱，可以用来做什么?
我妹妹在1970年读小学一年级报名时，只须向学校交三毛钱（0．3元），当时只需交纳书籍费，没有学杂费，是真正的’一费制’。待到开学发书时，两门教材《语文》、《算术》的定价相加也只有两毛八分钱（0．28元），当初报名时多交的贰分钱还是被老师退给了每一个同学。0．28元就是当时整个一学期的费用，当时小麦的市场价是：0．35元／市斤。也就是说，农民只需要卖掉八两（0．8市斤）小麦就足够了。
让我们再看看当时其它内容的一些消费情况：柴油机灌溉或拖拉机耕地所需的柴油价格，每市斤是八分钱（0．08元），也就是说’1市斤小麦’就可以换来’4．38市斤柴油’；当时的公共汽车每次收费是伍分钱，也就是说卖掉’壹市斤小麦’的钱可以乘坐’柒次公共车’；当时的公园很多都免费，收费公园的门票也不会超过伍分钱；当时在电影院看电影，一张电影票只需’壹角钱’，也就是说农民卖掉’壹市斤小麦’就可以去电影院’看3．8次电影’。
当时一个鸡蛋的市场价是肆分钱，有人曾粗略地估计说：家里养上一只老母鸡，老母鸡所下的鸡蛋足够供两个学生上学的费用。这话不无道理，我兄妹两人从小学到中学的费用，基本上就是靠我母亲所养的几只老母鸡下蛋，这些鸡蛋所换的钱，除了供我们兄妹上学外，还要供应家里的油盐酱醋茶之需。
再让我们看看改革开放后的今天农产品的价格，同上，看看卖掉一市斤小麦的钱都可以用来做什么？再看看养一只老母鸡可以供应几个学生上学？相信每个人心里都会有一本帐，无须我再一一列举。通过比较，我们不难得出结论：究竟是谁在压低农产品的价格？！究竟是谁在牺牲农民的利益？！事情已经很明显了。
最后我想强调的是：当时的农民虽然还须向国家交纳爱国粮，虽然还没有免交农业税，但是农民当时的生活负担要远比现在轻松得多！虽然当时的物质财富没有现在丰富，但是他们却是真正的国家主人翁！
从网上看，从周围人看，多数老百姓特别怀念毛泽东时代，认为毛泽东时代虽然’穷’，但感觉幸福、踏实，过得有奔头。这其中原因很多，有理想，人吃人、人剥削人的现象少，不受当官和有钱人的气，人人相对平等，但毛泽东时代的老百姓真的很’穷’吗？
1961年，逛庙会的孩子们最感兴趣的是大串糖葫芦
40岁以上的人都经历过，那时的人们享受着公费医疗、义务教育和福利住房，这些福利相当于今天的多少钱呢？以现在为参照，一个家庭的这三项福利是整个家庭除吃喝以外的总收入的2．8倍！
在毛泽东时代，城市人们享受公费医疗、义务教育和福利住房，其中义务教育中小学的学费很少，大学中专以上的学生不但学费由国家承担，每月有生活费，那么，这些无形的福利相当于今天的多少钱呢？我大概算了一下，可能不太准确，只供参考。
公费医疗：以某市2004年为标准，每人年均医疗消费支出为1434元，按平均每户4人计算（毛泽东时代一个孩子的很少），每户年均4302元，1964年人均寿命75．85岁，每户一生平均支出相当于今天的为75．85×4320＝435046元。
义务教育：以某市2004年为标准，每户年均消费教育支出5510元，每户一生平均支出相当于今天的5510×75．85＝417934元。
福利住房：80年代，中国城市人均住宅建筑面积由80年代初的3．6平方米，均价按3000元／m2（还不算维修等费用），每户一生按1．3套房子，户均 1．3×3．6×4×3000＝56160元。
三项共折：435046＋4179345＋56160＝909140元！
也就是说，每户家庭一生所享受的这三项福利91万元！
家庭收入：以某市2004年为标准，每一就业者收入为10009元，剔除就业者生活费后，其年均节余5800元左右（参见＞＞链接），每户家庭按1．6个就业者，每个就业者的平均工作时间为35年算，每户一生平均节余5800×1．6×35＝324800（元）。
每户家庭一生的三项福利是一生所攒钱的909140÷324800＝2．8倍，也就是说攒一辈子的钱还不够毛泽东时代的这三项福利！！！！

毛泽东时代真得像有些人说得很穷吗？这么穷还让老百姓享受这么高的福利？毛主席去世时是既无内债又无外债！以上数据仅仅是家庭内的福利，还不算国家工业由一穷二白至第六工业强国，什么二弹一星了等等！
